the MOTIF
of plants and animals on the vase was drawn from the Hungarian past, from
folk art. This is a funny mix of the present and the past; it signals to
me that the Hungarians didn't want to lose something that expressed their
national identity.
Another clue is the fortress pictured on the side of the vase that may recall the church towers of the town of Pecs, a town famous in Hungarian history |
