Architect and designer George Walton studied at the Glasgow School of Art before establishing a design firm in Glasgow in 1888. After decorating numerous houses there with furniture like this, he moved to London in 1897. One of his most important clients in England was the Kodak Camera Company, for which he designed furnishings in the Arts and Crafts style.
