Trained at the Bauhaus, Marcel Breuer became a master there in 1924, when the cabinetmaking and metal workshops were combined. Within a short time, he began creating tubular steel furniture like these tables (seen here in a Berlin living room in 1927), which were consciously designed to be mass produced.
