Along with Gustav Klimt and Josef Hoffmann, Kolomon Moser helped create the flavor and style of fin-de-siècle Vienna. While most of Moser’s designs for furniture and other objects were based on geometric forms, he occasionally created works, like this chandelier, with Art Nouveau sensibilities. Moreover, he often enriched his relatively spare forms with surface ornament, using such opulent materials as Loetz glass to great effect.
