Inscribe These Words
August 24, 2013 through August 24, 2014
Gallery 362

In Jewish tradition, the inscribed word is believed to be a manifestation of the Divine and an invitation to participation. Drawing from the MIA's own collection, this exhibition explores the use of inscriptions on Judaica objects. These inscriptions can be indicative of devotional practices, describe functional uses of the pieces, denote a personal connection, or demonstrate the very process of inscribing.
